I've read multiple blogposts about poor performance with the PERC H310 and the fact it lacks "Write Back" and in the defense of Dell this is the budget RAID controller and with that it is suitable for companies that needs a server to host a non-diskwrite intensive application.
I took some time to do a disk performance test using CyrstalDiskMark from
http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html and the results are.. Well, see for yourself!
